As a System Accountant, your primary responsibility is to manage and maintain the financial systems used at W.A Technology. You will be tasked with overseeing the implementation, configuration, and optimization of accounting software and systems to ensure accurate financial reporting and efficient workflow processes.

This is a flexible role, with a hybrid work model, where you will be required to come to the office in Malta once or twice a week. 

All the responsibilities we'll trust you with:

• System Implementation: Lead the implementation of accounting software and systems, ensuring that they meet the organization's needs and comply with accounting standards and regulations.
• Configuration and Customization: Customize accounting systems to align with the organization's chart of accounts, reporting requirements, and business processes. Configure system settings to optimize functionality and efficiency.
• Data Management: Oversee the management of financial data within accounting systems, including data entry, validation, and reconciliation. Ensure data accuracy and integrity by implementing appropriate controls and procedures.
• Integration: Collaborate with the Tech team, BI and other departments to integrate accounting systems with other business systems such as ERP (Business Central) and CRM (Zoho). Ensure seamless data flow and interoperability between systems.
• Training and Support: Provide training and support to end-users on accounting systems and processes. Serve as a subject matter expert and point of contact for system-related inquiries and issues.
• Compliance and Audit: Ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulations, and internal controls. Support internal and external audits by providing documentation and assisting auditors as needed.
• System Maintenance and Upgrades: Coordinate system maintenance activities, including software updates, patches, and upgrades. Monitor system performance and troubleshoot technical issues as they arise.
• Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation (automated invoice processing, automated bank reconciliations) within the accounting function. Implement best practices and recommend system enhancements to streamline workflows and increase efficiency.

What are the key experience and personal attribute requirements?

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, or related field.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Attention to detail and accuracy.
• Basic knowledge of accounting principles, standards (IFRS), and regulations.
• Experience with system implementation and project management (Monday.com) is a plus.
• Proficiency in Business Central and Power BI with Zoho and Tableau knowledge an advantage.
• Based in Malta, with availability to come to office twice per week.
