Data Engineer (Senior)

We are looking for a Data Engineer to complement our existing database development and maintenance function. You’ll work with the Data Engineering team and other stakeholders to design, develop, and maintain a first-class cloud-native database solution to support reporting, analysis, and data solution functions within the company. The role involves ensuring data accuracy, governance, and optimizing performance across our data infrastructure while supporting the needs of a rapidly changing business.

✍️ Your daily tasks will be

• Cloud Expertise: Leverage cloud-based tools such as Amazon Redshift, Firehose, and other AWS services for data management and optimization.
• Data Warehouse Design & Maintenance: Support the design and management of scalable data warehouse schemas and cloud-based architectures.
• ETL Development: Build and maintain robust ETL processes from platform and external data sources, ensuring scalability and efficiency.
• Business Intelligence Services: Utilize existing tools to build and support BI services, ensuring effective data delivery for business stakeholders.
• Full Stack Solution Implementation: Implement and maintain full stack solutions from source data to access layer databases, ensuring consistency and accuracy.
• Proactive Problem Solving: Anticipate potential data bottlenecks and optimization opportunities, providing proactive solutions to improve data performance and efficiency.
• Data Governance & Compliance: Ensure that all data engineering practices align with data governance, security, and compliance standards, maintaining audit and reconciliation safeguards across ETL processes and BI services.
• Database Optimization: Optimize databases by employing techniques such as indexing, partitioning, and compression to ensure high performance and low latency in data access.
• Data Integration: Collaborate with the Business Intelligence team to integrate additional data sources into the data warehouse environment, ensuring consistency and governance in new data.
• Cross-team Collaboration: Work with Platform and Business teams to support platform development that aligns with downstream data consumption needs.

✔️ What we expect from you

• 5+ years working in a technical data warehouse environment, with strong expertise in cloud-native architectures.
• In-depth understanding of ETL tools and processes, with experience in building and optimizing ETL pipelines.
• Experience in data warehouse technical architecture and end-to-end DWH implementation.
• Strong experience with MongoDB or similar databases.
• Familiarity with Amazon Redshift, Firehose, and other AWS services for cloud-based data management.
• Experience in the online gaming or e-commerce sectors is a plus.
• Strong skills in database optimization techniques like indexing, partitioning, and compression for performance tuning.
• Node.js or Python scripting experience is an advantage.
• Strong understanding of data governance, security, and compliance best practices.
• A proactive and solution-oriented approach to problem-solving.
• Excellent collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams and business stakeholders.
