Who we are

Bally's Corporation is a global casino-entertainment company with a growing omni-channel presence. It currently owns and manages 15 casinos across 10 states, a golf course in New York, a horse racetrack in Colorado, and has access to OSB licenses in 18 states. It also owns Bally's Interactive International, formerly Gamesys Group, a leading, global, online gaming operator, Bally Bet, a first-in-class sports betting platform, and Bally Casino, a growing iCasino platform. 

With 10,600 employees, the Company's casino operations include approximately 15,300 slot machines, 580 table games and 3,800 hotel rooms. Upon completing the construction of a permanent casino facility in Chicago, IL, and a land-based casino near the Nittany Mall in State College, PA, Bally's will own and/or manage 16 casinos across 11 states. Bally’s also has rights to developable land in Las Vegas post the closure of the Tropicana. 

Well, what about the team?

We are looking for an architect to work on, design, and deliver a hybrid “greenfield/brownfield” infrastructure based on on-premises and cloud infrastructure. The platform architect collaborates closely with development and engineering teams to understand new requirements and continuously enhance the platform's capabilities. Additionally, the architect ensures that the documentation describing the platform’s offerings is up-to-date and that all stakeholders are well-trained to utilize the platform effectively. An appreciation for modern operational practices is essential for this role. The architect will also play a key role in fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the team.

So, what will you be doing?

  • Establish and manage the strategic roadmap for technology initiatives, focusing on resource allocaiton, execution and delivery.
  • Drive platform adoption and evoluition of Infrastructure as Code (IAC), CI/CD, and GitOps through critical technology decisions and strategic partnerships within Ballys.
  • Design, manage, and optimize container orchestration platforms to ensure high availability, scalability, and performance of applications. This includes developing strategies for agile and scalable infrastructure solutions.
  • Spearhead and collaborate on platform adoption and evolution initiatives, while identifying pertinent use cases for a variety of cloud platforms.
  • Establish and promote best practices, tools, and frameworks.
  • Foster a work-to-finish attitude, recognizing that delivering projects on time may occasionally require longer hours.
  • Be prepared to travel for short periods to collaborate with stakeholders in other offices.
  • Mentor team members and contribute to raising the overall technical proficiency of the team.
  • Maintain a broad awareness of the company's long-term business strategies and goals, ensuring that architectural decisions align with these objectives.
  • Communicate complex technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, encouraging the exploration of new technologies and methodologies.
  • Ensuring best in class security, practices and compliance of the Platform.

And what are we looking for?

  • Extensive experience with Linux Operating Systems and automation platforms, with emphasis around RHEL (7/8/9) based operating systems.
  • Expertise in scripting languages and their orchestration solutions, including Ansible, AWX or Ansible Tower, Terraform, Terraform Enterprise, Puppet, and Puppet Server.
  • Advanced experience in managing and optimizing Kubernetes clusters, with familiarity in tools such as Rancher, EKS, and Vanilla clusters.
  • Proficiency in deployments using Argo CD, Helm, and Kustomize.
  • Strong understanding of Git concepts and proficiency in creating and managing repositories in GitLab/GitHub, including setting up access controls, managing branches and tags, and configuring repository settings. Experience in configuring CI/CD pipelines and implementing GitOps strategies to streamline and automate deployment processes.

Non-Technical Experience:

  • Demonstrated leadership experience, with the ability to mentor and guide team members, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
  • Strong strategic thinking skills, with the ability to align architectural decisions with the company's long-term business strategies and goals.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of conveying complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to manage projects and deliver results on time, even under tight deadlines.
  • Experience in fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within a team.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders across different offices and departments
