BI Developer

The BI Developer must work within various projects to extract data from different sources, store it on a central Data warehouse and create reports and dashboards on visual analytics platform as well as support power users to do it. The candidate must possess strong teamwork qualities and compelling experience in SQL Server database and Tableau.

Responsibilities

• Develop data pipelines from different data sources to extract, transform and load data into our Data Warehouse
• Collaborates with analytics and business teams to improve data models that feed business intelligence tools, increasing data accessibility and fostering data-driven decision making across the organization.
• Implements processes and systems to monitor data quality, ensuring production data is always accurate and available for key stakeholders and business processes that depend on it.
• Designs data integrations and data quality framework.
• Analyze and organize raw data
• Assure a healthy Data warehouse containing high quality data, respecting development standards and best practices
• Optimize performance at all levels of BI scope, tuning queries, data pipelines and dashboards using the available tools
• Monitor and support high availability Data pipelines and ensure their daily successful completion
• Work along the DBA to Troubleshoot performance issues impacting production BI databases
• Participate in design and development of data warehouse using a Dimensional Design
• Create functions and stored procedures to provide custom functionality as per the requirements
• Capitalize on existing project deliverables to ensure continuity/reusability ;
• Interact with Business users to assess requests, set priorities and manage expectations
• Develop and execute unit tests in accordance with quality rules defined by the technical team.
• Timely document all the work done in projects and daily tasks, and explain the work done to other members of the team

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or in a related field.
• Knowledge of best practices and IT operations in an always-up, always-available service
• Previous experience as a data engineer or in a similar position
• Technical expertise with data models, data mining, and segmentation techniques
• Knowledge of programming languages (e.g. Java and Python)
• Hands-on experience with SQL database design
• Great numerical and analytical skills
• Experience in data extraction, transformation, and load.
• Experience interfacing with multiple APIs
• At least 2 years of experience creating reports and dashboards with a BI Platform. (Tableau, Power BI preferred)
• Knowledge of Python for ETLs and Machine Learning.
• Proficient in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
• Quick learner with a keen eye for details.
• Able to prioritize, meet deadlines, and work in an environment in transition
